A job description or also known as JD summarizes the essential duties and responsibilities of a Medical Technician at Radiology Department.
- Update patients’ radiography data in the system - PACS-IW and VIARAD4.
- Assist Supervisor in monitoring on networking systems in the Department of Radiology.
- Make a report on any damaged of infrastructure and infostructure to the supervisor and the Department of Engineering and Maintenance Unit (UKP).
- Handle Digitizer Machine @X-Ray Film Digitizer, to convert images from hardcopy to softcopy and insert into the PACS-IW.
- Handle 'RIMAGE’, a system to copy images from radiography examination into the CD and radiography images from a CD into PACS-IW.
- Identify and repair minor damage to equipment such as radiography scanners and printers in the Radiology Department under the supervision of the Supervisor.
- Duplicate x-ray films for the purpose of learning (Teaching and Learning Purposes) as directed by the lecturer / radiologist.
- Help masters degree in medicine students retreive radiographic examination images from a Magneto-optical disk (MOD). A Magneto-optical disk archive for storage of computed radiographic, MODs are installed into jukebox holders in an optical library rack.
- Handle VIARAD4 system by registering the application and provide a 'user id' and 'password' for the Radiograher, Medical Officer and Lecturer.
- Cooperate with the Computer Technician from the Department of Radiology to manage PACS-IW and VIARAD4 setting on every computer in the wards, clinics and at the Lecturer / Specialist rooms and do resetting from time to time when the computer is having problems related to the radiological images.
- Ensure that all the computers in the ward / clinic are equipped with PACS-IW system and to facilitate their VIARAD4 deal 'on-line' with the Department of Radiology.
- Collaborate with Science Officer do Test Quality Control (QC) for all imaging modalities that use ionizing radiation and radiation protection equipment.
- Help supervisor to troubleshoot portable machine in the ward and also in Operation Theatres and the other modalities in Radiology Department to verify the problem of the equipment before reporting the faulty to Biomedical Engineering Unit.
- Assist Mr Nik Kamarullah (Medical Physicist) to do QC testing for irradiation apparatus as scheduled and involved as a member in Radiation Protection Committe (RPC) HUSM.

saying goes, "If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great
way… that means if we haven't got the opportunity to do the great things, we
can gain success by doing the small things perfectly. So being passionate about the actual job and
trying to be perfect.
