X-Ray Film Digitizer is a device that converts analog x-ray
film images into digital images. In the Radiology Department, 2 medical technicians are
assigned to operate the digitizer machine in addition to other duties. We have
the ability to multitask effectively.
We manually load x-ray film into the film
digitizer just as the process of copying a picture using a photocopier. Then it
produces accurate digital images from x-ray films (from analog x-ray to digital
x-ray). The entire process of converting the x-ray film to a digital image will only take a few minutes.
Once x-rays are in digital format, images can also be
easily stored on a system called PACS. Images can be quickly and easily accessed from anywhere within the healthcare facility, saving time and improving patient care.
The benefits of PACS technology is the
ability to store and transfer medical images electronically. This eliminates
the need for physical film storage, which can be time-consuming and difficult
to manage.
